Know thine enemy...

It's funny how quick people are to judge when they don't have all the facts. Then, when they do become more educated, they've already made up their mind, so they bend the facts to fit their biases.

When I was in the Navy, there was this one guy that I could not stand to be around. He was annoying, childish, and just downright maddening. While we often worked together, I avoided any more than the most necessary of contact with him. Then, one day, we had to work together on something that would take hours upon hours of constant being around each other, and even discussion and study. I came to find out that he really didn't annoy me as much as I had thought. Even though I had always thought him childish, irresponsible, and inconsiderate, he worked just as hard at making sure I understood the task as well as concentrating on his own part.

The Bible says, "Surely He scorns the scornful, but gives grace to the humble." I wasn't very humble towards this person. Alot of times we meet someone and don't really hit it off that great, and because we never take the time to get to know them, the relationship spirals constantly downward from there.

Sometimes, we need to think less of ourselves, and be more humble.

Kinda rusty...

Haven't been on here in awhile. I don't really have anything to talk about right now, except that I should be in bed. Hope to get into the swing of things here soon.

That would be cool...

I just recently filed my 2006 taxes. (I know, I know.) I am planning on purchasing a Palm T|X with my return, and was thinking about ways I would use it when I came up with an idea.

Remember those handheld optical scanners they used to sell at Wal-Mart that you moved it down a pages to capture it into Word (or other document writing software)? Well, a small version of those would be a cool accessory to a handheld device. While a portable keyboard can certainly be useful, and Graffiti is good for notes, the ability to scan an entire document (or documents) into my Palm would definately be worth the investment.

“Be nice. Be polite. Have a plan to kill everyone you see.”

Read Bob Owens' hilarious article, 'Gunning For a Concealed Carry Permit', about taking a concealed carry class.

Yes, I voted for Huckabee

My vote was more a vote against McCain than it was a vote for Huckabee. It also had nothing to do with the fact the he is from Arkansas or this endorsement...

New Year, New Hosting

I've changed my hosting from ImHosted to Lunarpages. It wasn't because of any problems with my previous host, but Lunarpages allows streaming content.
